MADPEB

Winner of the contest held at ETSIDI in 2017, this design based on the Dutch bicycle meets the requirements specified by the electric bicycle company Yamimoto. With the consideration of having a 250 Wh motor, a maximum speed of 25 km / h and only assisted pedalling, this model is designed for use in large cities on flat terrain. The specified range of clients is marked by a relatively high average quality of life and is seeking better demands than the competition.

The study of the idea is based primarily on every day, comfortable and simple use. The design innovation focuses exclusively on the concept of the Dutch bicycle or Roadster, which lacks a top bar, thus allowing both men and women to ride it without any discomfort. The implementation of the battery in the lower bar is chosen along with a motor that is incorporated with the rear wheel, along with a pedalling sensor for assisted assistance. The redesign forces the frame to have a more organic shape from the handlebar to the rear wheel sprocket, thus providing protection from all electrical elements such as the strap. This provision not only provides a more consistent centre of gravity for the use of the bicycle, but also focuses all components safely and effectively for both the user and the manufacturer of this model.

The abandonment of straight lines to look for curved and smooth shapes defines this project in its entirety. Movement, advancement and comfort are concepts that are associated with light and smooth curvatures, distinguished from the linearity of a line and sharp angles.
